Advocacy & Civic Affairs

Over the years, the Club has worked hard to insure that the lands adjacent to our neighborhoods are developed and used in ways that minimize their impact on us. This means we are continually involved in discussions and negotiations with developers, corporate neighbors and government neighbors.

The Club works with the elected Council member and council staff, along with other departments of city, county and state government to help us in these negotiations.

DWP Hollywood Reservoir Committee
Members:  *Jean Barrett, Bill Merzbach, D.M. Osborne

The Committee is currently engaged in negotiations about mitigation concepts for the continued use of the Hollywood Reservoir access road.

Universal Monitoring
Members: *Miriam Palacio, Anne Marie Lardeau, Tree Lockie

The Committee monitors Universal Studio's expansion plans and their impact on our community.

Traffic
Members: *Dan Savage, Len Betz, Marianne Manes, Miriam Palacio, Eileen Peterson

The Committee monitors the impact of local development on traffic and advocates for improvement of the congestion on Barham Boulevard and increased safety from through traffic on the residential streets of our community.
