Neighborhood Security Patrol

Atlas patrol car

Because of tight police staffing levels, it is rare to see a police car on routine patrol in our area. For that reason, the HKCC endorses a security patrol with service provided by Atlas Security in North Hollywood.

An Atlas Security patrol car, staffed by an armed officer, drives through our neighborhood 5 times during each 24-hour period, making a visual inspection of subscriber's homes. In addition, if you are a patrol service subscriber, response is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

At no extra charge, many clients have found the vacation service provided by the patrol to be quite valuable. If a subscriber notifies the patrol office in advance, an officer will come to your home for a thorough inspection. By stepping out of the car and walking around your home to be sure all is secure, he will then leave a report slip indication of his presence there that day.

The cost for the patrol service is only $35 per month. You will be supporting the security of the neighborhood as a whole.

For additional information, or to join the patrol, contact Atlas Security weekdays from 9 am to 5 pm at (323) 876-1401. After hours, leave a message and your call will be returned the next business day.

Police

Part of our neighborhood (The Knolls and Lakeridge) falls under the jurisdiction of the Los Angeles Police Department, Hollywood Area located at 1358 N. Wilcox Avenue, Hollywood, CA 90028

Hollywood Area is divided into several Basic Cars (assigned a patrol car). The Knolls and Lakeridge are served by Basic Car 6A15. Our Senior Lead Officer (SLO) assigned to 6A15 is SLO Michael Shea (Cell Phone & Voice Mail: 213-793-0710). He is very familiar with our neighborhood and is the LAPD's point person to solve complex or recurring problems in the HKCC.

Each Basic Car is divided into Reporting Districts (RDs), usually matching Census tracts. The Knolls and Lakeridge Estates are part of RD 615. These numbers are used in police reports. According to LAPD statistics, our neighborhood is the safest within Hollywood Division.

Effective January 1, 2009 the Manor has been transferred from Hollywood Area to North Hollywood Area located at 11640 Burbank Boulevard, North Hollywood, CA 91601. The Manor is now part of LAPD North Hollywood Basic Car 15A67 and RD 1588.

It is very important for you to file a police report to record criminal activity, however minor, in our neighborhood.
We are occasionally victims of burglaries, burglaries from motor vehicles or vehicle thefts. These types of crimes are committed by repeat offenders. It is essential for the LAPD and for our Security Patrol to be alerted immediately to prevent further criminal activity by the suspect or to gather evidence.

After filing your police report, you may use this website contact form to give us the information for our security patrol. Up arrow to top of page
